Martin Scorsese’s films have been resonating with audiences for decades, and he’s not done telling stories. Scorsese’s next project, “Killers of the Flower Moon,” chronicles the brutal murders of the Osage community — a Native American tribe from Osage County, Okla. who were slaughtered in the early 1900’s in what became known as the “Reign of Terror.” The film was adapted from a nonfiction book by David Grann, and stars frequent Scorsese collaborators, Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro. The cast also includes Brendan Fraser, John Lithgow, Jesse Plemons, and Lily Gladstone. For the Scorsese fans out there who love a good binge session, we rounded up a list of his best movies to buy on Blu-ray — either before or after “Killers of the Flower Moon” makes its theatrical debut. “Raging Bull”

De Niro delivers one of his most compelling performances as a hotheaded boxer in “Raging Bull.” The 1980 biopic is about Jake LaMotta, the legendary fighter nicknamed “The Bronx Bull.” Two years before his death at age 95, LaMotta revealed that he didn’t particularly like the film at first due to the brutal violence, but he praised De Niro’s performance. “Raging Bull” was nominated for eight Academy Awards and won two (including a Best Actor trophy for De Niro). Joe Pesci and Cathy Moriarty also star in the sports drama.
“The Age of Innocence”
Daniel Day-Lewis, Michelle Pfeiffer, Winona Ryder, and Miriam Margolyes star in “The Age of Innocence,” a period piece set in 1870s New York that follows an affluent lawyer who is married to a beautiful socialite but falls for her estranged cousin. Scorsese adapted “The Age of Innocence” from the Edith Wharton novel of the same name, and does a sumptuous job of capturing the lifestyle of New York City elites in the 1800s.
The Blu-ray collection has been resorted in 4K, with 5.1 surround DTS-HD Master Audio. It also features new interviews with Scorsese, co-screenwriter Jay Cocks, production designer Dante Ferretti, costume designer Gabriella Pescucci, and a documentary on the making of the film.
“Cape Fear”
De Niro, Nick Nolte, and Jessica Lange take us on a wild ride in this 1991 remake. The film centers around a lawyer named Sam Bowden (Nolte) and his client, Max Cady (DiNero). Bowden purposely withholds evidence in a trial that results in Max, an innocent man, spending over a decade in jail. Once he gets out of jail and becomes fully aware of the deception, Cady meticulously stalks and threatens the safety of Bowden’s family. Bonus content includes deleted scenes, the making of “Cape Fear,” and behind-the-scenes footage.
“Hugo”
“Hugo” is truly in a lane of its own, and it differs from many of the movies that Scorsese has directed. The heartfelt family flick, set in 1930s Paris, is about an orphan boy living at a train station where he also works. Hugo (Asa Butterfield), along with his friend Isabelle (Chloe Grace Moretz) embark on a quest to solve a mystery about his late father’s automaton while also trying to find a stable place to call home. This film can not only introduce younger generations to the genius of Scorsese films, you’ll also get to see Sacha Baron Cohen in a kid-friendly role.
“Shutter Island”
This psychological thriller takes us inside what the film calls the most dangerous psych ward in the country. In “Shutter Island,” U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his new partner, played by Mark Ruffalo, travel to Shutter Island to investigate the disappearance of a violent mental patient. They soon uncover a conspiracy far greater than what they could have imagined — or are they imagining it? The film takes you down a winding road that will make you question what’s real and what’s not.
“The Irishman” Criterion Collection Blu-ray
In true Scorsese fashion, “The Irishman” takes us into the life of organized crime. Loosely based on a true crime story, the Netflix film is set in the 1950s, and follows the story of Frank Sheeran (Robert De Niro), a truck driver who gets involved with the mob, becomes a top hitman and gets to work with the head of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, James “Jimmy” Hoffa (Al Pacino). Joe Pesci portrays mobster Russell Bufalino in the film, which deals heavily with themes of loyalty and betrayal. The Criterion Collection Blu-ray includes a newly-edited roundtable conversation with Scorsese, De Niro, Pacino and Pesci, along with archival interviews with the real life Frank “the Irishman” Sheeran and Hoffa.
“The Wolf of Wall Street” [Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD]
“The Wolf of Wall Street” is Scorsese’s highest grossing film and one of his most popular. Scorsese re-teams with DiCaprio for the 2013 dark comedy about “sex, money, power, and drugs,” which is basically all of the things you’d expect to find in the life of a young Wall Street stockbroker in the late 80s who feels invincible. Included in the cast are Jonah Hill, Margot Robbie, and Matthew McConaughey.
“Casino”
“Casino” is a 1995 crime film adapted from reporter Nicholas Pileggi’s nonfiction book, “Casino: Love and Horror in Las Vegas.” Pesci, De Niro, and Sharon Stone take the lead in this riveting crime drama centered around a lower level mobster whose bosses tap him to run a Las Vegas casino. The Blu-ray edition of the film features 4K UHD and bonus features, deleted scenes and candid moments with the cast, and the documentary “History Alive: True Crime Authors: Casino With Nicholas Pileggi.”

Pupkin wants a shot at fame so badly that he kidnaps an actual TV host that he idolizes and attempts to steal the spotlight. “The King of Comedy” features comic legend Jerry Lewis, along with Dianne Abbott, Sandra Bernhard, Chuck Low, Shelley Hack, and Tony Randall.
