Showrunner Steve Blackman announced at SXSW on Sunday that the teenage superhero show will return on June 22. According to a new report in Variety, “Moonlight” director Barry Jenkins has signed on to executive-produce Season 4 of the crime anthology, currently subtitled “True Detective: Night Country.” While there are no official plot details, and the series has not been formally picked up yet, the story will reportedly take place in the Arctic, where it can be dark for 24 hours a day. “Night Country” will reportedly mark the first “True Detective” season without the involvement of Nic Pizzolatto, who created the show and wrote the overwhelming majority of the episodes during the first three seasons....

Though Sarah Polley’s drama, which follows Mennonite women trying to make the decision on whether to leave or fight after the revelation that many of their colony’s men have been raping them over the course of years, is an ensemble piece, the film does lay the groundwork for Mara to be viewed as the lead....

Meanwhile, Cineworld-owned Regal venues have shuttered their doors around the world once again, and significant markets like New York and Los Angeles remain closed to audiences. In a recent interview with Reuters, “Wonder Woman 1984” director Jenkins warned that the damage done by theaters shutting down entirely will be difficult to undo, and Jenkins is joining the chorus of Hollywood directors appealing to the U.S. government to help save cinemas....

A widow of seven years, Faye has been waiting in the vast Coloradan landscape for the arrival of a man she hasn’t seen in four decades....

It’s only fitting that we were meant to be talking about her work in “Palm Springs,” a film about passing the time while stuck in a seemingly endless loop, its own little eternity. Directed by Max Barbakow and written by Andy Siara, “Palm Springs” follows Andy Samberg as Nyles, a restless young man stuck enduring the same desert-set wedding day over and over again (and over and over again) after encountering an unexplained phenomena in a nearby cave....
